Graduation to Vocation: Project Engineer

As a College of Natural Resources Scholarship and Dr. Franklin D. Hart Endowed Scholarship recipient, Jeramy Williams was able to take full advatange of CNR's opportunities and participate in valuable internships with JE Dunn Construction -- which has turned into fulltime employment. He'll begin work after graduating with his B.S. in sustainable materials and technology and a minor in renewable energy.

Park Scholarships Class of 2018 to Present William C. Friday Award to Wright

The 19th annual William C. Friday Award will honor the founder and CEO of Bitty & Beau’s Coffee, an award-winning coffee shop in Wilmington that employs more than 40 people with disabilities. Amy Gage Wright, recently named the 2017 CNN Hero of the Year, will deliver a lecture immediately following the Jan. 31 award presentation. The event is free and open to the public.

$2 Million Golden LEAF Gift Bolsters N.C. Food Processing Innovation Center

A $2.2 million grant from the Golden LEAF Foundation will allow the NC Food Processing and Innovation Center to purchase equipment for NC State’s Kannapolis facility. This new hub for plant-based food science and manufacturing advancement will help local food entrepreneurs translate ideas into commercially viab­­le products, assist with production transitions to regional co-packing facilities and offer state-of-the-art equipment.
