A Champion Beyond the Court

Sam Hunt made the most of his time as a transfer student-athlete to NC State, both on and off the court. As a men's basketball player, he enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences’ online graduate certificate program in leadership and volunteer management, completing it in 2018. Now working as a graduate assistant for the Wolfpack squad, Hunt is completing his master’s degree in youth, family and community science.

An Anonymous Gift Leads to a Lasting Tribute to Randy Foy

From 1995 until 2013, Randy Foy led two student and community musician groups for the NC State Department of Music, serving as an educator and mentor. An anonymous donor has created the Randy Foy Music Scholarship Endowment to honor his memory and service.

Humane Society of the United States Donates Records to the Libraries

The NC State University Libraries Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) is excited to announce the donation of the historical records of the Humane Society of the United States, which will benefit scholars and other researchers. The records include original correspondence, publications and photographs dating from the mid-1950s, encompassing the organization's activities in promoting the protection of companion animals, farm animals, animals in laboratories and wildlife.

Chuck Flink, a professor of practice in landscape architecture at NC State, as well as a volunteer and donor, sat down with the university's Abstract to explain the importance of greenways and their potential in developing cities and communities. Flink is the author of "The Greenway Imperative: Connecting Communities and Landscapes for a Sustainable Future."

The ‘True Gift’ of an Unexpected Bond

Sid Bragg and Jackie Jaloszynski recently presented NC State Veterinary Hospital cardiology resident Anna McManamey -- or Dr. Mac, as they call her -- with a Coat of Excellence for her support and compassion treating their dog Lukus. Gifts to the Coat of Excellence program support the hospital's ongoing efforts and allow clients the opportunity to recognize the extraordinary caregivers who touch lives each day through their work.

Sandy Lin ’21 used inspiration from her family’s journey to America as motivation to achieve her dream of becoming a student at NC State.
