CALS Celebrates New Museum, Education Center and Creamery

William R. Kenan Jr.'s bequest to benefit agricultural education continues to make an impact at NC State as the new Randleigh Dairy Heritage Museum opens. The museum will give visitors the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a dairy farm and to learn about the importance of the dairy industry in North Carolina, the history of Jersey cows and more.

Four Faculty Members Receive Holladay Medal

Four faculty members recently received the Alexander Quarles Holladay Medal for Excellence, the highest academic honor bestowed by NC State and the university’s Board of Trustees: Harald Ade, Goodnight Innovation Distinguished Professor, Department of Physics; Barry Goodwin, William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor, Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics; Behnam Pourdeyhimi, William A. Klopman Distinguished Professor in Textiles, Department of Textile Engineering, Chemistry and Science, associate dean for Industry Research and Extension, College of Textiles and director, Nonwovens Cooperative Research Center; and Abdel-Fattah Seyam, department head, Charles A. Cannon Professor of Textiles, Department of Textile and Apparel, Technology and Management.

Conservation Pioneer: CALS Philanthropist William Stevens

The late philanthropist and conservationist William Stevens and his wife, Emily Inscoe Stevens, have helped hundreds of students attend NC State's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences through a scholarship they established in 1982. The fund currently supports 12-15 students a year.
