Blasting Off into History

When Christina Hammock Koch – a three-time alumna of NC State – blasts off for the International Space Station this Thursday, she’ll be launching in the middle of Women’s History Month. Her mission will represent the culmination of nearly six years of challenging training since she was selected to be one of NASA’s eight astronauts in the Class of 2013. And Koch, who spoke at the university's 2017 Red and White Night celebration, is slated to be part of a historic all-female spacewalk later this month.
