NC State Day of Giving Arrives March 23

NC State will host its fourth annual Day of Giving on March 23, 2022 — a day for the community to write the university’s next bold chapter. Day of Giving is a 24-hour philanthropic event, with alumni, families, employees and friends of the university coming together to give to the areas that are meaningful to them.

#GivingPack Means GLBT Center Community-Building

After being out in high school and seeing the transformative potential of a LGBTQIA+ community, Ray Ward made sure to connect with the GLBT Center at New Student Orientation when they came to NC State. Support for the GLBT Center Fund helps provide the programs that Ward has found meaningful. They hope that on NC State’s 2022 Day of Giving, which takes place March 23, donors will support the center’s continued growth.

Challenge Gift to Address Student Housing Insecurity

Steve Deaton ’79 has issued a special challenge gift to support housing scholarships through the Pack Essentials program on NC State’s 2022 Day of Giving. If 100 gifts are made on March 23, he will provide $25,000 to the fund.

Libraries Gifted With New Endowments on Day of Giving

Donors to the NC State Libraries were particularly generous and thoughtful on March 24. The Libraries exceeded its previous two years of Day of Giving efforts combined, bringing in $1,491,566 from 217 gifts. Two new scholarship endowments were created, two new collections endowments were established and sizable increases were made to the Student Resource Fund, among many other successes.

Day of Giving 2021 Breaks Records for College of Design Fundraising

The College of Design had its most successful Day of Giving yet on March 24. Throughout the 24-hour period, it raised a total of $1,349,683 from 309 gifts, supporting scholarships, facilities, students, staff and faculty throughout the college.

Alumni and Friends of the College of Engineering Help Set Day of Giving Record

The College of Engineering turned out strong for NC State’s Day of Giving on March 24, raising more than $6 million from 1,615 gifts — both records for the college. Funds will support world-class research, develop new opportunities and improve existing programs for students.

2021 Day of Giving: A Successful Day For Our Global Pack

As part of NC State’s record-setting Day of Giving last month, in a joint outreach effort, the Office of Global Engagement’s units raised $7,840.94 for the International Student Support Fund through 66 generous gifts and $5,515.64 for the Study Abroad Fund through 45 thoughtful contributions. These donations enable students to think and do globally both abroad in the world and here at home.

More than 500 donors gave to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences on this year’s Day of Giving, raising a record total for the college. Their gifts will provide tangible aid for students, create hands-on learning opportunities and address persistent needs across the college.
