Paul W. Mulvey Honored With 2024 UNC Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching

Paul W. Mulvey, Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor in the Department of Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Poole College of Management, has been named the 2024 UNC Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching. The honor is the university system’s most prestigious teaching award, recognizing and encouraging faculty’s extraordinary teaching contributions.

The Poole College of Management’s Mark Beasley, the Alan T. Dickson Distinguished Professor of Accounting and director of the Enterprise Risk Management Initiative, will start his three-year term at the board’s annual meeting in August.

Poole Alumni Launch Startup to Foster Human Connection

Through the Andrews Launch Accelerator, business administration graduates Thomas Armstrong and Parker Mayes created LetsGo Raleigh to “make it easy for people to spend time with each other.” Startups that complete the Accelerator program are provided with equity-free seed capital via the NC State Acceleration Fund, which is the product of a $1 million donation from Lyn and Chip ’66 Andrews.
