Finding the Best Way to Get COVID-19 Test Kits Where They’re Needed

Researchers are developing a computational model that can be used to identify the best allocation plans for distributing COVID-19 test kits to hospitals, clinics and relevant state agencies. The work is being done with support from a one-year, $600,000 grant from the National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals (NIIMBL). Principal investigator is Rob Handfield, Bank of America University Distinguished Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management in NC State’s Poole College of Management.

Risks Can Be Leveraged as Opportunities in the Post-COVID ‘New Normal’

Mark Beasley, director of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Initiative and KPMG professor of accounting, and Frank Buckless, Stephen P. Zelnak Jr. Dean of Poole College, hosted the inaugural Virtual Thought Leadership Series event, Strategies of the New Normal: Lessons from Risk Management. The discussion took a look at the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and how companies can implement ERM processes into their business plans to navigate huge volumes of risks as they look toward a post-pandemic world.

Poole College Welcomes Brian Clark as the New Executive Director of Development and External Relations

Poole College of Management has named Brian Clark as its executive director of development and external relations. Clark will work with the college dean and the assistant vice chancellor of university development to plan, direct and implement fundraising goals and major gift programs, among other focuses. Clark, an alumnus of NC State and former professional football player, was most recently director of major gifts at the Wolfpack Club.
