Student Spotlight: Sarah Bailey

Forest management major Sarah Bailey's recent internship -- supported by the College of Natural Resources Student Assistance and Enrichment Fund -- involved identifying tree species throughout the park and creating new labels and maps that enabled visitors to learn about both trees and biodiversity. The University Scholar gained hands-on skills in other areas including park promotion and visitor interaction, too.

“Making Space” Launches Third Season at Libraries

Supported by a grant from the Pentair Foundation, the series aims to confront bias and systemic barriers to inclusion in the STEM fields by presenting the experiences and perspectives of underrepresented groups in science and technology, including people of all identities and abilities. The program also seeks to inspire all members of the NC State community to take on new skills, learn emerging tools and be creative with technology.
