Goodnight Scholars Program Selects Transfer Class of 2022 Finalists

The Goodnight Scholars Program revealed the finalists who will participate in the program’s second annual Transfer Finalist Interview Day on April 27. These finalists were selected from a pool of over 200 applicants representing 41 North Carolina community colleges.

Student Body President Jess Errico Pursues Engineering and Advocacy

For Jess Errico, pursuing an engineering degree didn’t mean giving up her advocacy goals. The Shelby native and Caldwell Fellow recently wrapped up her term as student body president. Her advocacy for student interests included helping develop the Pack Meal Share program, through which students can donate unused guest meal card swipes to support other students facing short-term food insecurity.

Remembering Susan K. Nutter

Former Vice Provost and Director of the NC State University Libraries Susan K. Nutter, who retired in 2017 after a 30-year career as one of NC State’s and the library world’s most dynamic and influential leaders, passed away on March 25. Nutter placed the Libraries at the center of the university's overall success, and her ability to connect with students, faculty, staff, alumni and colleagues was a hallmark of her extraordinary leadership, truly embodying NC State's "Think and Do" spirit.

A Study Abroad Experience: Jecori Owens-Shuler

Jecori Owens-Shuler, a senior at the College of Design studying industrial design, had the opportunity to spend a semester in Prague as part of his study abroad experience. This adventure was enhanced by support from the Chancellor’s Study Abroad Scholarship.

Mark Baxter Receives Inaugural Distinguished MAC Alumni Award

Mark Baxter, who received his bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1996 at the Poole College of Management and his master’s in accounting in 1998 through the Jenkins MAC program, was recognized at the MAC program’s 25th Anniversary Celebration Reception held on April 4. An assurance partner at EY in Raleigh, Baxter is an active, involved alum, serving on the Poole College of Management Board of Advisors, the MAC Board of Advisors, the NC State Executive Education Board, as well as coordinating his firm's relationship with the college and supporting students through the Baxter Family Endowment.

Thanks to the generous support of students, faculty, staff and alumni, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences exceeded all expectations during the university's first-ever Day of Giving. The college raised more than $730,000 through more than 700 gifts.
