Ormond’s Career Protecting Firefighters Through TPACC Earns Him Faculty Honors

Two decades into a career spent entirely within the Wilson College of Textiles, Bryan Ormond has earned a reputation as one of the world’s foremost experts in the science of protecting firefighters from dangers seen and unseen. Ormond was recently presented with the 2023 Goodnight Early Innovators Award in recognition of his work.

Dean Hinks Looks to the Future of Textiles During the Korean Fiber Society’s 60th Anniversary Conference

David Hinks, the dean of the Wilson College of Textiles and the Cone Mills Distinguished Professor of Textile Chemistry, recently attended the Korean Fiber Society’s 60th Anniversary Conference. Recognized as a global leader in textile education and an expert in color science and forensic textile chemistry, Hinks’ expertise led him to be selected as one of only three plenary speakers to present at the event.
